Depicting the artist´s own grand father in a very personal work, "My grandfather the Ottoman, the Cretan, the Greek", where the history of a place is made visible through his change of national identity during his life time - even though he never left his home town. Crete was occupied by the Turks before it became independent and before it became a part of Greece.
