A series of seven portraits in ink on paper made in 2011 in Stockholm, Sweden
The poses of the elegant cabinet portraits of the Swedish elite from the 1890s from the Nordic Museum´s archive are combined with random faces from the Swedish contemporary press. Emotionally rather than rationally, Choudalakis explores the historical background of the successful “Swedish model” and formulates a question around national and cultural identity.
